Aspire

Aspire (2010) by Warren Langley.

Aspire is an art installation in Sydney (Australia) that reflects the aspirations of the community that fought against the destruction of residential housing in this neighborhood.

To accommodate the passage of the highway proposed the demolition of a considerable strip of housing.

But the action of the community, of the first of its kind in Sydney, made the planners adopt the current configuration.

There are 14 tree sculptures, the largest with a length of 6 meters, which seem to support the highway.

They are made of high density polyethylene illuminated by a set of light emitting diodes.

The sculptures shine brightly at night and make a previously intimidating ride a positive and edifying path.
