Bridge

Oil painting on canvas of a mountain village with an old bridge landscape, very similar to my birthplace, and genre for which I am fascinated.

The piece shows a distinct difference between artificial and natural elements, where is appreciated the comfort and freedom with which the author uses the color, influenced by artists such as Vincent Van Gogh, Edvard Munch or Paul Cézanne.

Landscape painting, is the depiction in art of landscapes – natural scenery such as mountains, valleys, trees, rivers, bridge landscape and forests, especially where the main subject is a wide view – with its elements arranged into a coherent composition. In other works, landscape backgrounds for figures can still form an important part of the work. Sky is almost always included in the view, and weather is often an element of the composition. Detailed landscapes as a distinct subject are not found in all artistic traditions, and develop when there is already a sophisticated tradition of representing other subjects. Landscape views in art may be entirely imaginary, or copied from reality with varying degrees of accuracy. If the primary purpose of a picture is to depict an actual, specific place, especially including buildings prominently, it is called topographical view.
